Country superstar Cody Johnson has officially canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour dates, following a painful injury that now requires surgery.
The Texas-born singer shared the emotional update with fans via Instagram, revealing that what started as a bad infection turned into something much more serious.
“It is with a very heavy heart I have to share that the remainder of this year’s concert performances will not be able to happen,” Cody Johnson wrote. “While battling a severe upper respiratory and sinus infection, I burst my eardrum. The severity of the rupture means I must undergo immediate surgery.”
Cody Johnson, best known for hits like “Til You Can’t” and “Human,” had been performing through illness in recent weeks before doctors urged him to stop. The burst eardrum not only caused intense pain but also made it impossible for him to sing safely.
“The healing process will take many weeks, and it’s not possible for me to sing during this time,” he continued. “Without surgery, my downtime could be months. I pray for full healing so I can get well and return to doing what I love.”
Johnson also took a moment to thank his fans for their unwavering support, writing, “Y’all mean the world to me. I can’t wait to get back out there.”

The canceled Cody Johnson tour dates include stops in Pittsburgh, Birmingham, Phoenix, Las Vegas, and Gonzales, Louisiana.
While the country artist didn’t confirm whether the shows will be rescheduled, a notice on his official website advises fans to “stay tuned for an email from your ticket providers for further details.”
This announcement comes just weeks after Cody postponed multiple September concerts, including one in Columbus, Ohio, after losing his voice and suffering from a “severe cough, burning chest, and throat.”
Fans know Cody Johnson for his grit, humility, and love of performing live — and that spirit shines even through this setback. Despite the tough news, his post reflects hope and faith:
“I pray for full healing so I can return to doing what I love.”
His loyal fanbase, known as the CoJo Nation, flooded his comments with messages of encouragement, prayers, and well-wishes.
One fan wrote, “Your health comes first, Cody. We’ll be here when you’re ready to hit the stage again.” Another added, “Take all the time you need — the rodeo can wait.
Though his 2025 tour is now on hold, insiders close to the country singer say Cody is already focused on recovery and future plans once cleared by doctors.
Fans can expect updates directly from Cody Johnson’s official website and his verified social media accounts.
